Spring Soccer Update

The latest update from the Michigan State Youth Soccer Association:

April 8, 2020

Dear Club and League Representatives:

By now, you should be aware that the Michigan State Youth Soccer Association (MSYSA) has suspended all of our soccer activities, all MSYSA sanctioned tournaments, and all MSYSA affiliated activities through April 30, 2020. ‘MSYSA affiliated activities’ includes scheduled games, team practices/training sessions, or sponsored activities that are under the direct supervision of a team official; or sanctioned local or national tournaments as a member of a contestant team (e.g., any activity that MSYSA sanctions and insures.)

COVID-19 is an emerging, rapidly evolving situation. Thus, there is a possibility, that MSYSA may need torevisit the May 1, 2020 return-to-play date. In the interim, please review our Spring 2020 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs). Please keep in mind that these FAQs are subject to change. If you have questions that are not addressed in the FAQs document, please email us at stateoffice@michiganyouthsoccer.org.

Our next update will occur by teleconference (Zoom) with club and league representatives on Friday, April 17, 2020 at 4:00 pm. Also, at some point after our call on Friday, April 17, 2020, MSYSA will send an email update to all members as well.

In closing, please continue to do your part in adhering to Governor Whitmer’s Executive Orders, such as ‘Stay Home, Stay Safe’ and continue to follow the social distancing guidelines as recommended by the CDC.

Sincerely,

Thomas Faro

Executive Director
